For the last four years, I have been reading photography blogs about how to make it in this business. In an overly saturated market, you have to offer a service that is like no other. You have to specialize in a certain criteria that sets you apart from the rest of the pack. I can’t even count the number of photography businesses here in San Diego. There is just that many. I am not sure how many of those businesses are profitable, but what I do know is that I haven’t seen one photographer offer locations in the mountains of east county San Diego. Locations like Mount Laguana, Pine Valley, Descanso, Campo, and Julian. As I photograph more at this elevation, I am seeing the variance of the high dessert. I am finding hidden gems with breath taking light, and beautiful open fields that I have never seen before. San Diego is known for their beautiful beaches but residence are seeking an alternative. Many families that live here are transplants from different areas of the county, so they may be in search of a photographer that can offer a different experience. At least I hope!!
After seeing the Cunningham session, my girlfriend Julee requested a mountain feel to her family pictures. Both Troy and Julee, along with their sons Max and Sam, are outdoorsy people who live in Temecula. They are adventurous and love doing it all. They appreciate nature and wanted something that gave a more lush feeling. They drove almost two hours to head up the mountain to have these pictures taken here in Pine Valley. They wanted it that bad!! So after shooting their session the light bulb went off in my head. I need to promote and maintain a presence in shooting in this type of scape. It is a beautiful place to live and I love sharing it with everyone.
The Elliott family is so dear to me. Julee is one of those people who would do anything for anybody. She does so much for so many and never asks for anything in return. I am so blessed to have her in my life. She is a true friend.
Troy. Isn’t he handsome?!
Max and Sam. And it just so happens that my children adore these two guys.
Newlyweds? You would think.
Everyone deserve to have a good picture of themselves. Your children will thank you. I promise.
And just because I have so many of this mama.
