So you all have seen the flooding of pictures on Facebook of parents proudly showing off their children as they make their way back to school. For weeks now, I have been viewing photos of toothless children spreading their wings, growing teens entering high school, and young adults embarking on their most thrilling adventure yet, college. I ohhh and ahhh over them not just because of the children but for the parents who are watching their young ones grow at lightning speed. We are so proud of our kids that we can’t help but show the world what their next chapter is. On the first day of school, I can relate to each and every parent who is sending their kids off, and I get a sense that we are all emotionally bonded by the feeling of letting our babies go.
My small clan started school today and I even though I have done this before, I felt like I never have left them out of my sight. I spent the day wondering what they were doing, but I was humbled in knowing they were in good hands with wonderful staff and with friends who care for them. I am sure the beginning of the next school year will be here before we know it and I will once again have the feeling of not wanting to let them go.
